How Creativity Connects J.R. Barns, Curated by Lisa, and Durabuild Sheds
When I first built this site for J.R. Barns, my goal was simple — to tell stories that make people feel something. But I’ve learned that storytelling doesn’t just live on the page. It lives in the work we do every day — in the way we build, design, and create.
My wife, Lisa, brings that same spirit to Curated by Lisa — a boutique built on kindness, community, and confidence. From hand-selected styles to her Community Help Board that gives back every month, she’s showing what it means to lead with heart and creativity.
And then there’s Durabuild Sheds — my own way of staying connected to the kind of honest, hard work that shaped my childhood. Each shed is crafted by hand, built to last, and meant to give families and small businesses the space they need to grow their own stories.
Together, these three projects — writing, curating, and building — all come from the same place: believing that good things grow from hard work, creativity, and a community that shows up for one another.

Because no matter what form it takes — a story, a boutique, or a shed — everything we create is part of the same story: ours.
